2006 Diamond Heels listed as best ACC team to play in Omaha and lose College World Series

1. North Carolina 2006. The 2006 UNC baseball team came as close as you can possibly come to winning the national championship without actually winning it. The Tar Heels (54-15) finished as the national runner-up to the Oregon State Beavers, despite sporting a roster highlighted by future Major Leaguers Andrew Miller, Daniel Bard and Tim Federowicz.
