The first preseason football practice had wrapped up, and UNC players gathered around coach Mack Brown. Drake Maye dropped to his knee among them. Fittingly, he centered the front row. Maye is, after all, at the forefront as a top NFL quarterback prospect, Heisman Trophy candidate, and heart of the No. 21 Tar Heels’ hopes to contend in the ACC.
