Come September 2, some 60,000 people will gather in Charlotte, at Bank of America Stadium, to watch the Tar Heels and Gamecocks. It will be part football game — and an important one at that for the aspirations of both teams — but also part family reunion among close relatives and distant cousins, literal and metaphorical, united by a land they call home.
