Tar Heel Swarm Gamecocks In Football Season Opener, 31-17

With its defense surprisingly swarming and Drake Maye spreading the wealth per usual on offense, North Carolina delivered an effectively balanced opening performance Saturday. The No. 21 Tar Heels handled South Carolina 31-17 in Charlotte to begin the season, giving coach Mack Brown his 100th career win across his two stints in charge at UNC.
