Along with the new hires of offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, offensive line coach Randy Clements, tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens, and cornerbacks coach Jason Jones, Mack Brown and the Tar Heels brought in volunteer offensive analyst Clyde Christensen and senior defensive analyst Ted Monachino, both longtime respected NFL assistant coaches.
