Trimane Goddard Named Thorpe Award Semifinalist

University of North Carolina safety Trimane Goddard has been named a semifinalist for the 2008 Jim Thorpe Award, which is given annually to the nation's top defensive back. Goddard, a senior from Robersonville, N.C., ranks fourth in the nation with five interceptions, including one returned for 51 yards for a touchdown against Boston College. Goddard also has 34 tackles, 1.5 tackles for losses, three pass breakups and one fumble recovery.
