There are two schools of thought regarding the work ethic of Kentwan Balmer, the North Carolina defensive lineman taken by the 49ers with their first-round draft choice Saturday: Some who watch Balmer wonder if he has enough desire to make it in the NFL. Some who know Balmer wonder if those scouts are out of their minds.
