Wide receiver Boyd picks Tar Heels

Jheranie Boyd, one of the top high school football wide receivers in the country, committed to the University of North Carolina on Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Boyd held a pep rally at the Gastonia Ashbrook High football stadium to make his announcement. Today was a teacher work day at the school. Boyd is ranked as the No. 5 prospect in North Carolina by scout.com and is the No. 7 wide receiver in the nation by the same group.
