UNC gets important ACC win over Georgia Tech
Posted Nov 9, 2008
Butch Davis admitted feeling some anxiety before sending his Tar Heels out on the field to meet Georgia Tech. Davis wasn’t sure how the Tar Heels would handle Georgia Tech’s explosive option offensive attack. “The coaching staff, and probably the players, too, went out there wondering, ‘Did we prepare enough?’” Davis would say. The Tar Heels made those doubts disappear early by shutting out the Yellow Jackets for 3 quarters before settling for a pivotal 28-7 ACC victory.
