Report: Butch Davis at the top of Volunteers' wish list
Posted Nov 10, 2008
A couple of morsels of information came out of Butch Davis' Sunday teleconference after North Carolina's 28-7 victory over Georgia Tech. First, the Tar Heels' coach was asked about a report in the Knoxville News Sentinel that listed him as the leading candidate to replace Phillip Fulmer at Tennessee. Davis declined to comment, saying that he had nothing to add after addressing the issue to a small group of reporters last week. It was then that Davis said he was committed to UNC.
