Tar Heels in NFL: Sam Howell has career game; mixed day for Mitch Trubisky; Josh Downs productive

It’s amazing what can do when he has time to throw. After getting sacked 40 times in the first seven weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles only sacked Howell once during their tougher-than-expected 38–31 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Howell completed 39 of 52 passes for career-highs of 397 yards and four touchdowns. (Tar Heel Tribune)
