UNC says high ranking won't be a distraction

Some of the lessons from this season were learned the hard way. Late losses to Virginia Tech and Virginia have kept Carolina from being undefeated - but perhaps made the Tar Heels a better team. "I think it was both a gift and a curse,” defensive lineman said. “We could be undefeated. At the same time I think it helped us put things in perspective. And go and work harder." Having beaten No. 24 Georgia Tech, Carolina now plays unranked Maryland. (WRAL Sports Fan)
