It's a delicate dance, this job of rebuilding programs. It takes, first and foremost, players. Any coach worth his weight in cheesy cliches will tell you players win games. But those players must buy into what's being sold and must grow and develop and need to win every week. It goes way beyond wanting to win. This is where UNC is after just 21 games under Butch Davis, and why Davis--whose team is 7-2 and in the race for the ACC title--is the coach of the year.
