North Carolina coach Hubert Davis told his team at halftime to attack the basket, and N.C. State was helpless to stop the Tar Heels. The more aggressive approach helped No. 7 UNC take control with a 19–4 second-half run and coast to a 67–54 victory over N.C. State at PNC Arena on Wednesday to take sole possession of first place in the ACC standings.
