From cruising ahead in the first half to riding out some creeping cause for concern in the second half, North Carolina had to work to dispatch Louisville on Wednesday. The fourth-ranked Tar Heels won 86-70 at the Smith Center, though they weren’t able to fully squash the lowly Cardinals and turn this into the inferior matchup that it looked like entering night.
