North Carolina forward Deon Thompson spent the summer before his junior season doing the same things he had done in his other summers in Chapel Hill. He put in countless offseason hours improving his body as well as his game. But with top-ranked North Carolina facing an unexpected shortage of depth in the frontcourt, it's the work he has done on his mind that might prove the biggest dividends.
