Rockies' pitcher Daniel Bard to have surgery, miss spring training


’s latest comeback has hit a roadblock. The veteran right-hander, whom the club hopes will compete for the closer’s job this season, will undergo arthroscopic surgery Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Bard, 38, expects his recovery time to be five to seven weeks, meaning he will begin the season on the injured list. (Denver Post)
