Friends, Former Teammates Collide in Tyler Nickel’s Return to North Carolina

Tyler Nickel stepped back inside the Smith Center to take part in Virginia Tech’s shootaround on Saturday before his return game in Chapel Hill. The forward from Harrisonburg, Va., played last season at UNC before opting to move closer to home and join the Hokies. He’s believed to be the first former Tar Heel to play against UNC at the Smith Center.
