Kentwan Balmer could end UNC's first-day draft drought

No UNC football player has been selected higher than the fourth round of the NFL draft since 2002. Saturday, defensive lineman Kentwan Balmer could be taken in the first round, an important distinction for the rebuilding of the UNC program, coach Butch Davis said Tuesday. “We’re very optimistic that Hilee Tayler and Durell Mapp and Connor Barth will join Kentwan over the weekend as being selected."
