Gamecocks lose OL Johnnie Farms to Tar Heels

OL (6-3 306) of Perry, GA made an official visit to North Carolina over the weekend and committed to the Tar Heels, backing off an earlier pledge to USC. "I told coach (Robert) Gillespie," Farms said Sunday night. "He wasn't too happy about it. He's still going to recruit me. He thinks I'm unsure about my decision, but I think I'm firm about it." Farms is scheduled for an official visit to USC Dec. 13 but is not sure if he'll make it. (The State)
