The fifth week of the 2024 National Women's Soccer League season was highlighted by Maycee Bell making her regular-season debut, as well as assists from Meghan Klingenberg and Ally Sentnor. The Houston Dash dropped a 4-1 decision to the Portland Thorns, but Avery Patterson logged a full 90 minutes, plus eight minutes of stoppage time.
