Dontae Balfour’s journey from UNC to leading Charlotte 49ers’ defense

Dontae Balfour is back in a Charlotte 49ers’ football uniform. The junior cornerback shattered school records last season with 11 pass breakups, including a record four in one game. He now enters his second season in green and gold after transferring from North Carolina. Initially a four-star recruit coming out of Starke, Florida, Balfour is an athlete.
