Franklin Street's Facelift

Generations of Carolina students have stormed Franklin Street after basketball victories over Duke, scarfed down Porthole rolls at the now-closed restaurant, and shopped for Tar Heel T-shirts at places like the Shrunken Head. But while many stores have come and gone, downtown Chapel Hill’s economy has remained centered around UNC. Until now.
