Peter Fountain Wins On 21st Hole, Advances In U.S. Amateur


Peter Fountain, a senior at UNC this past spring, made two long putts on Wednesday to advance to the round of 32 in the 2024 United States Amateur. Fountain made a 40-footer for birdie on the first playoff hole to conclude stroke play and advance to match play, and a 35-footer for birdie to beat Vanderbilt's Jackson Van Paris on the third extra hole.
