Martin Vician’s Penalty Kick Lifts No. 6 UNC Men’s Soccer Over UAB

The No. 6 UNC men's soccer team defeated UAB Thursday night, 1-0, in the season opening match for both programs (Highlights). Martin Vician's penalty-kick in the 71st minute was the difference maker for the Tar Heels in Thursday night's non-conference affair. After Thursday's result, UNC is 12-0-2 under coach Carlos Somoano in season openers.
