Use of Analytics May not be Perfect, but it's a Big Part of UNC Football's Process
Posted Oct 9, 2024
Should a team go for it on fourth-and-three at the opponents’ 40-yard-line? Check the analytics. In the Tar Heels’ 34-24 loss at home to Pittsburgh, analytics told UNC to go for it on seven fourth downs. Mack Brown agreed six times, but the Tar Heels converted just twice, which included failures inside the Panthers’ 10-yard-line, costing the Tar Heels points.
