If Mack Brown ends up with a 6-6 regular-season record (or better) and a bowl trip, his recruiting pitch can continue to include "perennial bowl team led by a Hall of Fame coach, at an elite university, in a wonderful college town that sends a lot of players to the NFL." If not, conversation surrounding Brown will take on a much more unpleasant tone.
