Late RJ Davis surge helps UNC escape upset by Elon

Cold shooting and sloppy play made No. 9 North Carolina’s opener hard to watch at times. But the Tar Heels woke up in the final 7 minutes after trailing by two to pull out a 90-76 victory Monday against an Elon program that went 13-19 last season. It was a tough early lesson for UNC, which faces a mammoth challenge at No. 1 Kansas on Friday night. (Tar Heel Tribune)
