RJ Davis Overcomes Shaky Start, Propels Tar Heels Late In Basketball Opener

R.J. Davis made his way over to the scorer's table with 7:30 left in the second half, as a Tar Heel lead once as large as 16 points slowly withered away. Davis looked on as Elon's Nick Dorn tied the game at 69 with a 3-pointer, and soon after, a pair of free throws from TJ Simpkins gave the Phoenix a two-point lead. So, UNC had to resort to Davis' heroics.
