There was always a symmetry between UNC and Kansas to Roy Williams’ basketball journey. He is a native of North Carolina who learned a lot of what he has known from Dean Smith, who was born in Kansas, attended KU and played for Phog Allen. Through Smith, who was the original connection between Kansas and UNC, a larger story can be told.
