The question facing Hubert Davis is one of adaptation. Davis played at UNC under Dean Smith. He spent about a decade as an assistant coach under Roy Williams. Coaches changed, players changed and the sport changed, a lot, during those years. The underlying identity and principles of Carolina basketball never did, though, and by design.
