Too much strength in UNC's numbers?

B.J. Phillips and Zack Handerson will apply for career-ending medical hardships after injuries derailed their football careers. That's significant for the Tar Heels because of the scholarships they free up. Phillips and Handerson will remain on scholarship for their remainder of their academic careers, but the scholarships won't count against the NCAA allotment. With the way UNC is recruiting, the Tar Heels need all the football scholarships they can get.
