In the ACC opener Friday, No 25 North Carolina controlled No. 8 Virginia Tech, 20-17, at Carmichael Arena (Highlights). The win was the first over the Hokies since the 2019-20 season, and the first against Virginia Tech in Chapel Hill since the 2018-19 season. UNC was victorious in five matches on the night: three decisions, one technical fall, and one fall.
