Slow starts became a common theme for UNC during the 2024-25 basketball season. The Tar Heels trailed by double digits in the first half in 11 of 37 games, compiling a 2-9 record in those contests. They often found themselves in a first-half hole during non-conference play, as six of 12 games outside ACC play featured a 15-point first-half deficit.
