College Basketball Has Entered Its Most Complicated Offseason

For most of the past half-century, at the end of March, a college basketball coach would have a pretty clear picture of his roster for the following season. Dean Smith could simply look at UNC’s roster when its season ended, cross off the names of any departing seniors, then add those of the incoming high school prospects. Clearly, those days are over.
