When Raymond Felton signed a collegiate grant-in-aid with the University of North Carolina in the fall of 2002, recruiting experts said he would lead the Tar Heels to a national title. After Felton did so in the spring of 2005, Felton declared himself ready for the NBA. So when the Charlotte Bobcats made Felton one of their two first-round picks in the June 2005 NBA Draft, it seemed destiny that Felton would lead the expansion franchise to greatness.
