Sam Perkins was a three-time, first-team All-America in 1982, 1983, and 1984, ACC Tournament MVP, NABC Hall of Fame, named to the ACC’s 50th Anniversary team, and his UNC jersey is honored in the Smith Center. Perkins is UNC’s fifth all-time leading scorer with 2,145 points, third in rebounds with 1,167, and third in blocked shots with 245. (Tar Heel Illustrated)
