Mark Packer’s accidental career was one of the best. Packer grew up in Winston-Salem and attended Clemson, where he played golf for the Tigers. He did not know what he would do after graduation but was determined NOT to follow his father Billy into broadcasting. Packer surprised the media and his fan base Thursday when he announced his retirement. (Chapelboro.com)
