3 UNC Athletes Finish as National Runners-Up at NCAA Track & Field Championships


Three Tar Heels – shot putter Tommy Kitchell and runners Makayla Paige and Ethan Strand – finished as national runners-up in their events at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Oregon last week. Strand earned All-America honors by finishing second in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:47.33, just .07 seconds behind the champion. (Chapelboro.com)
