A historic win in coach Dean Smith's career wasn't nearly as significant as it could have been. It's not like the gold medal the United States men's basketball team won in 1976 is not appreciated. But the championship game had the wrong opponent. Team USA beat Yugoslavia handily to win the gold. The opponent that everyone wanted to see was Russia. (Inside Carolina)
