Day'Ron Sharpe to be unrestricted free agent, but Brooklyn Nets hope to re-sign him

Former UNC center Day'Ron Sharpe may not get to play with fellow Tar Heels Drake Powell and Cameron Johnson in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Nets got the rights to Powell after the Atlanta Hawks made him the 22nd overall pick Wednesday in the NBA draft. But the Nets didn’t tender a qualifying offers to Sharpe, making him an unrestricted free agent.
