12. Max Johnson, North Carolina: Surprisingly, The Sporting News has tabbed Max Johnson as UNC starting quarterback over South Alabama transfer Gio Lopez. Johnson broke his leg in the Tar Heels' season opener last season. In five seasons (two at LSU, two at Texas A&M and UNC), he has thrown for 5,923 yards, 47 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
