Former UNC and MLB Pitcher Daniel Bard Retires Following Latest Comeback Attempt


's latest attempt to return to baseball has ended. The 40-year-old pitcher, forced out of MLB for seven years when a case of "the yips" derailed his career in 2013, made it back to the majors in 2020 and spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as the Rockies' closer. Bard was pitching for the Mariners' Triple-A affiliate when he decided to retire. (Newsweek)
