For all the strides Lowe and his program once seemed on the verge of making, State remains light years away from even thinking about challenging UNC and Duke for supremacy in its own backyard – let alone in the ACC and nationally. “It’s very disappointing,” a somber Ben McCauley said afterward. What was supposed to have been a springboard for the Wolfpack program has turned out to be a swan dive into an empty pool.
