Robby Ashford Named Wake Forest's Starting QB for Season Opener

South Carolina transfer Robby Ashford has reportedly won the QB job for the season opener against Kennesaw State, per Pete Thamel. Ashford’s running ability and experience are likely what gave him the edge over Charlotte transfer Deshawn Purdie. Wake Forest hasn’t had a true dual-threat QB since Jamie Newman in 2019.
