Bombs away. Third-ranked North Carolina unleashed a 3-point barrage of near-record proportions and unloaded on Maryland 108-91 on Tuesday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference at the Smith Center. The Tar Heels, connecting at a dizzying rate from deep during the first half, buried 16 shots from beyond the arc to finish one shy of the top mark in school history. Wayne Ellington connected on seven 3s and piled up 34 points.
