Respected coaches speak on evolution of signing day
Posted Feb 3, 2009
When North Carolina signed former Greenwood standout Kevin Addis, high school coach Shell Dula remembered the conversation after the signing he and Addis had with then UNC coach Mack Brown.
“It was a big thing when they signed and you sent that scholarship papers. I remember talking to Mack Brown that day. We talked for about 30 minutes are so. It was more personal. But it wasn’t as fast of a pace because he was able to take time and talk. Now it’s so fast paced. Very seldom do you get that personal phone call or conversation on signing day.”
