Liza Astakhova arrived in the United States with one bag and a slate of classes awaiting. UNC Women's Basketball Coach Courtney Banghart recruited Astakhova from Russia, where she played for the Russia-PBL and the Moscow Basketball Association. The 6-foot-2 forward arrives as a true freshman after averaging 4.7 points per game overseas last season.
