3. North Carolina Tar Heels: The team’s progress in its second season under Butch Davis paid off with a top-10 recruiting class (eight, Rivals.com; fifth, Scout.com). Defensive end Donte Moss, a Rivals five-star recruit out of Jacksonville, N.C., is the stud. He is a Parade All-American who made 20 sacks his senior season. The Tar Heels signed 13 four-star recruits among their 29 signees.
