Marcus Ginyard could tell almost immediately Saturday night that something was wrong with North Carolina. Something was so wrong that it ended UNC’s season in the NCAA Final Four semifinals in a stunning 84-66 loss to Kansas. Ginyard first noticed the problem when the team huddled after committing a foul. All he heard was silence. No one knew what to say or do.
